AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA MESA AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA MESA AND THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES’ RETIREMENT SYSTEM Staff recommends the Council approve the second reading and adoption of the Ordinance authorizing a second amendment to the contract between the City Council of the City of La Mesa and the Board of Administration of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), to provide a mandatory employee contribution of an additional .5% of salary as provided under Government Code Section 20516(a) applicable to all Classic CalPERS unrepresented employees and all Classic CalPERS La Mesa City Employees’ Association (LMCEA) members to become effective July 12, 2019 (total of 1% cost share). CONSIDERATION OF AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA MESA AMENDING SECTION 17.12 OF THE LA MESA MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADJUST THE SCHEDULE OF SEWER SERVICE CHARGES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2020 AND FISCAL YEAR 2021 Staff recommends the Council approve the proposed sewer rate increase of 5.25 percent in Fiscal Year 2020 and 5.5 percent in Fiscal Year 2021 and approve the introduction and first reading of the Ordinance amending Section 17.12 of the La Mesa Municipal Code to adjust the schedule of sewer service charges for Fiscal Year 2020 and Fiscal Year 2021.
